Head of Risk

Paul joined in September 2018 as the Head of Risk. His team are responsible for the governance and risk control of PETL, including functional coverage of – market and credit risk, quantitative risk and internal/external compliance. The team also liaise closely with the parent company’s Group Risk Management function.


Paul has over 16 years experience in commodities markets specialising in Gas and LNG, and has also worked with oil, coal, power, carbon, weather and FX. Prior to joining PETL he held a variety of risk roles for major European energy supply, marketing and trading companies. In his career Paul has developed policy, process, reporting and systems to protect and control trading and asset optimisation activities.


Paul holds a BSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking from the ICMA Centre at Reading University. In his free time he enjoys running and spending time with his family.



Head of Origination

Antonio joined PETL in April 2018 as Head of Origination and Business Development with responsibility for the design, development and implementation of PETL’s growth strategy.

Previously he has worked in the energy sector for several years, both in Italy, France and the UK, holding positions of increasing responsibility first at Eni and then at Edf.

Antonio boasts a successful track record in management and negotiations of long term natural gas and LNG supplies and international business development.

He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin and he served the Italian Army of “Carabinieri” as officer in 1997.





Head of Operations

Stephen joined PETL in 2012 as Commercial Operations Manager and was appointed Head of Operations in June 2017. His team are responsible for performing the daily operations related to our European Gas Portfolio. This includes managing the upstream arrangements with producers  and operations related to the Dragon LNG Terminal in Wales and the Humbly Grove storage facility in Hampshire.


Stephen has close to 20 years of experience within the commodities markets and whilst a specialist in gas & power, has also managed operations for a wide variety of other products including emissions, coal and uranium. Prior to joining PETL he worked for Goldman Sachs within their Commodity Trading Department, helping to set up and then manage their European Gas & Power Operations desk and establish it as one of the largest participants in those markets.  He began his career  in commodities with Elf Gas & Power as part of their Gas Operations team.


He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and holds a BSc in Economics, with a diploma in International Trade & Development.



Chief Executive Officer

Fasluddeen joined PETRONAS Energy Trading Ltd (PETL) in 2017 as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director.  He has overall responsibility for sustainably growing PETRONAS’ European gas marketing and trading business, as part of PETRONAS’ Global LNG and Gas portfolio by optimising its diverse assets in gas storage, LNG regas terminal and power assets.

Before joining PETL, Fasluddeen was responsible for Business Strategy of PETRONAS LNG (UK) Ltd focusing on long-term growth of PETRONAS’ LNG portfolio in the Atlantic Basin.

Fasluddeen has served as the Executive Assistant to the Chairman of PETRONAS Group between 2012 and 2016, working closely with the Management teams across both Upstream and Downstream business Divisions on various Corporate strategic and operational initiatives. He had also carried the role of Strategic Planner for the Refining & Trading Business and had leadership roles in varying Human Resources functions across PETRONAS Group.

Fasluddeen has an MBA from the Manchester Business School, UK and BBA from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He has lived in Malaysia, Australia and UK for studies and professional career.


Head of Legal

Nailesh leads PETL’s legal team and is also our Company Secretary. His team offers legal advice, guidance and commercial negotiation support to the Company and its subsidiary/affiliate companies and also liaises with the central legal team at our parent company, PETRONAS.

Nailesh first joined PETL in 2011 having previously been General Counsel and Company Secretary of Coventry Building Society, a leading UK financial services company. From 2014-2016 he served a secondment as Head, Legal and Corporate Secretary of the PETRONAS-led Pacific NorthWest LNG Project in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

During his career Nailesh has advised a number of leading international investment banks on their energy trading operations. He began his career at leading international law firm Linklaters (in their London and Hong Kong offices) and then worked as a Senior Associate in the banking and energy sectors for a number of years with McDermott, Will & Emery (another major international law firm) in the City of London (while also spending significant time in their Washington DC office).

Nailesh is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales and a graduate of Oxford University and Nottingham Law School. He is a former member of the legal panel of the UK Council of Mortgage Lenders and a former Director of the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. He is also a former finalist (individual nomination) at the British Legal Awards.

In his spare time Nailesh enjoys time with his family, cricket, supporting Liverpool Football Club and running.


Head of Structured Trading

Gabril joined PETL as a Quantitative Analyst in April 2012, he held senior roles in Structuring, Valuations and Quantitative Modelling within the team prior to being appointed as the Head of Structured Trading.
Before working at PETL, Gabril worked for Centrica Energy as the leading analyst on various projects, including Asset Optimisation Models, Valuations, Price and Market Modelling, on both Power and Gas Markets.

Gabril graduated from the University of Athens with a degree in Economics and an MSc in Applied Economics and Finance. He also holds an MSc in Operational Research and Management Science from the Warwick Business School (WBS) where he earned the EPSRC Maintenance Award. In his free time he enjoys climbing, photography and playing music.


Head of IT

Jason leads our Technology Service team and is responsible for the effective performance of our key business systems and our adoption of industry leading technology.  His team ensures our systems are secure, responsive and deliver significant business values to the Company.  Key areas of focus for the team include PETL’s IT infrastructure and security, internal software specification and development, and management of our Energy Trading Risk Management System.

Jason joined PETL in Aug 2014 bringing over 20 years’ experience in IT service delivery spanning energy, banking and public sectors.  During his career he has worked with multinational organisations such as JP Morgan, E.ON and EC Directorate-General’s enabling the integration and automation of businesses operational processes, applications and infrastructure to drive efficiencies and reduce the cost base. In addition, delivery of data and technologies to generate new revenue streams and placement of the client at the leading edge of their field.

Jason is BCS accredited and has a PhD from Imperial College, London. His spare time is focused around a young family, but he also has a keen interest in cycling and boxing exercise.


Head of HR and Administration

When he joined PETL in September 2010 as our Head of HR and Administration, Lance’s immediate focus was to develop our Human Resources Strategy.  This included supporting our business proposition and attracting leading talent across the energy sector into PETL.  Lance now leads a team of two HR professionals who focus on the effective implementation of our HR approach – this includes talent attraction and retention, training, organisational development and employee engagement. Lance also liaises with the HR teams at our parent company, PETRONAS.

Lance comes to PETL having worked in various senior positions in HR Management within the IT and Leisure sectors, covering EMEA. He has worked for both international and small enterprises alike and is a specialist in organisational development, recruitment and retention planning, employee relations policy formulation, talent management programmes and the design and delivery of reward structures and policies.

Lance has a degree from The University of Portsmouth and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). He also acts as a mentor to other HR professionals at various levels.  In his spare time he pursues his passion for landscape photography and has had his work exhibited.
