PETRONAS LNG (UK) Ltd, (PLUK) is the Atlantic Basin focused company of PETRONAS. It draws on the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) expertise, success and reputation of PETRONAS in the Asia-Pacific region to benefit the Atlantic Basin as a whole.

PETRONAS LNG (UK) Ltd (PLUK) and PETRONAS Energy Trading Ltd (PETL) work very closely together. PETRONAS LNG helps us secure Europe’s energy supplies by shipping them into the Dragon LNG terminal at Milford Haven, where we have a 50% equity and capacity stake.
Essentially, PETRONAS LNG brings the supplies of LNG to the UK and PETL distributes them through Europe’s pipeline infrastructure.

History
Established in 1974, PETRONAS is Malaysia’s very own integrated petroleum multinational corporation with a strong ranking on the Fortune Global 500® and a presence in more than 30 countries around the world.

PETRONAS, the acronym for Petroliam Nasional Berhad, is wholly-owned by the Malaysian Government and is vested with the entire ownership and control of the petroleum resources in Malaysia through the Petroleum Development Act, 1974.

kinsalelogoPSE Kinsale Energy Limited, has been producing natural gas from its facilities off the Old Head of Kinsale since 1978. The company was acquired by PETRONAS in April 2009 and currently employs 60 people. Kinsale operates the Kinsale Head, Ballycotton and Seven Heads Gas Fields in the Celtic Sea. They also operate a natural gas storage field (Southwest Kinsale).

dragonlogoDragon LNG is the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import terminal at Waterston, Milford Haven in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It receives, stores and regasifies Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) – a vital source of clean and reliable energy for the UK.

Dragon LNG plays an intrinsic role in supporting the UK’s energy infrastructure.   It can import and supply up to 7.6 billion cubic metres of gas per annum (bcma) to the UK’s National Transmission System (NTS), as and when required, to meet peak demand.

Dragon LNG is a standalone business with its own management team. This team draws on the experience of its two shareholders of which PETRONAS is one with a 50% equity and capacity stake.

Dragon LNG enables us to distribute the LNG shipped in by PETRONAS LNG through Europe’s pipeline infrastructure as natural gas.

Humbly Grove Energy is an oil and gas production reservoir that has been operating since 1986. It was converted to add Gas Storage in 2005 and on 14 December 2011,PETRONAS Energy Trading Limited acquired a 100% holding of the facility. It enables the UK to possess a safe gas storage capability that’s close to home and to have gas supplies available the minute they’re needed.

Humbly Grove Energy is a subsidiary of PETRONAS Energy Trading Limited and owner and operator of the UK onshore licence PL116, which contains the Humbly Grove oil production and gas storage developments.

Safety

Humbly Grove Energy Ltd is classified as a Top Tier COMAH establishment by the UK’s Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and as a result complies with stringent safety standards and is inspected and audited by the HSE on a regular basis.

Giving the UK a Self-Sufficient Gas Reserve

Humbly Grove Energy contributes approximately 6% of the UK’s gas storage capacity and assists the UK homeowners and businesses maintain a continuous gas supply when there are shortages from overseas or adverse weather conditions.

Arthur Moors, Managing Director

Humbly Grove Energy Ltd is led by its Managing Director, Arthur Moors. Arthur is responsible for the safe, reliable and economic operation of the business. He also focuses on maximising Humbly Grove’s value to the overall PETL business.

Arthur leads various health & safety, operations, maintenance and engineering teams and ensures the site complies with the latest legislative and statutory health and safety statutes. This includes liaising with the UK’s Health and Safety Executive.

Talents & Experience
Arthur has over 26 years’ experience at the site and, more recently, was Humbly Grove Energy’s Operations Manager. He has in-depth knowledge of all facets of the storage facility and this specialist insight ensures Humbly Grove maximises PETL’s return on their investment.

Education & Interests
Arthur has a BSc in Industrial Systems Technology and a BEng in Engineering and Business from The University of Southampton. He is also a Chartered Electrical Engineer. Outside of work Arthur loves to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He has a smallholding with horses, goats and alpacas and the family enjoy riding.
