2014 Graduate Scheme

In 2014 PETL launched its graduate scheme with a front office and a back office graduate.

We strongly believe that employees are our key asset and that everyone who joins us should be empowered to deliver their full potential. We place great emphasis on challenging everyone to continually learn and develop their skills, as well as enjoy their career progression with us.

Jane, Front Office GraduateJane Lee

“The PETL graduate scheme has offered me direct exposure to a full spectrum of the company’s business functions through rotations in both the front and back offices.

I get to work with most of the people at PETL and am able to experience all aspects of the energy trading business. I am always given opportunities to get involved in on-going projects and am impressed by the level of responsibility I am given. At the same time there is plenty of support and advice available from every member of the team. PETL’s wide culture of sharing experience and knowledge has made my learning experience both enjoyable and efficient throughout the programme”

“The opportunity given to me by the PETL graduate programme to date is evolving and on-going, each day I am challenged by different aspects of the business allowing me to incorporate my knowledge as well as gain additional insight into the practical world of business.

I am mentored and trained by members of the senior management team and other colleagues within PETL who are very proficient in their roles.  Everyone is extremely helpful and this has allowed me to enhance my familiarity within the energy sector with ease.  The rotational graduate scheme allows me to view the organisation from various perspectives and it shows me how each of the departments are integrated with one another, this gives me acumen in fields expanding from what I’ve learnt in my degree. I have really benefited and progressed since I’ve been here and this is reflected in my increased knowledge of the energy markets”
